Hey guys.. this is my last blog that I
am required to write for my journalism class. I plan to keep posting, but probably not twice a week. This week's blog accuses on why I dance and why
I feel everyone should take up dancing. Hopefully reading all my blogs will make you want to try dancing.. no matter your age, you are never too old to dance.
I started dancing when I was 2 years old, and I loved it ever since I put my little pink ballet slipper on the floor. Many people think that they will not like any type of dance because they are not coordinated enough or they are not flexible enough. Well here's the thing: the more you practice dance, the more you get better at it. (just like anything else in life.)
I was able to express so many feelings through dance, and whenever I was in a bad mood, I always thought to myself, "I have dance class tonight, I'll just let it all out then." And I did, and it felt so good. When I left the dance studio I had forgotten about everything that was bothering me before I went in. I believe everyone dances to their own beat and has their own style of dancing. I believe dance can inspire anyone.
Dance doesn't always have to be competitive. I just made it that way for myself. You can just dance for fun and not have to worry about being number one or being on a competitive dance team. It started out that way for me, but as I got older, I made it competitive. That's what I love about dance the most: you can love doing it just for fun, or you can take it to the next level and love competing in it.
Dance is an awesome form of exercise. You will always be fit if you stick with dancing. Even if you only dance twice a week, it gives that much of an exercise for you.
I believe people should dance because they should want to, not because someone is forcing them too.
If you are forced to dance, then you are not going to enjoy it, and then there is no point in doing it. (just like anything else) Don't dance because your older sister dances or your mom or grandma danced, dance because in your heart, you know it's something you would enjoy. I promise you once you get started, you will grow to love it, and you will not be able to get out of that dance studio.
Thanks guys for reading my posts. I'm am going to keep posting... if not about moravian dance then about regular dance.... just keep looking for my updates.
